Katz Media Group has promoted Christal Radio president Christine Travaglini to president of Katz Radio Group, tasked with overseeing the radio rep firm’s nationwide sales operations. She reports to Mark Gray, who had been running the radio rep firm until March 2017, when he was promoted to CEO of Katz Media Group.
A longtime Katz veteran, Travaglini has been president of Katz division Christal Radio since 2008. She will now drive overall business development and strategy of Katz Radio Group’s 14 regional offices that serve as the national sales rep firm for more than 3,300 radio stations and their digital audio platforms. In a news release, Katz said Travaglini “will lead the Katz team in driving maximum results for broadcasters and their advertisers through radio advocacy, innovative marketing solutions and compelling data and insights.”
Travaglini was the first person to rise from an assistant to president within the Katz organization. In 2013, she was named president of Katz Partnerships, the business development team focused on deepening relationships with agencies and developing innovative campaigns for today’s big brands, in addition to her role at Christal.
Travaglini will continue to lead Katz Partnerships and Christal Radio.
“Christine is an incredible leader that not only has the respect of our team and senior leadership, but has also been a trusted partner for Katz’s clients for many years,” Gray said. “Her dedication and wealth of experience with the radio and advertising industry as well as her strong reputation for inspiring innovation and building winning teams will further Katz’s continued growth and advocacy efforts for radio, our partners and advertisers.”
Travaglini has served on the National Board of Directors and is currently chair of the Alliance for Women in Media. She is an executive board member of the Radio Advertising Bureau and a board member of the International Radio and Television Society.
“Katz is a longtime leader in the media industry, known for its accomplished team of senior leaders and winning sales teams that reflect the strength the organization and its unparalleled national reach,” Travaglini said. “I’m both honored and excited to take on this role, and I look forward to continuing to drive revenue and advocacy for our broadcast partners as our team continues to build on radio’s success with major advertisers and agencies nationwide.”
